First-Time Patient Appointments

If you are a first-time patient, we request that you complete some necessary paperwork. If you would like to complete the paperwork before your appointment, feel free to download it here and fill it out before your arrival. If you plan to fill out your paperwork during the appointment, please arrive at least 15 minutes early so as not to alter our appointment schedule.

What to Expect at Your Appointment

Once your new patient paperwork is completed, one of the dental hygienists will greet you and guide you into an X-ray room. Taking dental X-rays will help us evaluate any problems with your teeth that are invisible to the naked eye.

Once your X-rays are completed, your dental hygienist will ask you about the reason for your visit, any dental concerns you might have, and any goals you may have as it pertains to your oral health. He or she will also review your health and dental history.

Finally, your hygienist will perform a thorough dental cleaning and polishing. Our experienced dentist, Dr Vaibhav Bajaj, will then inspect your teeth and jaw for any signs of damage.

At the end of your appointment, your dentist will share your treatment plan with the front office so that our staff can review any insurance and billing questions with you. We will then schedule your next appointment so that you are all prepared for your next visit.

New Patients FAQs

How long is my first appointment?

Please plan at least 1 hour for your first visit. The length may vary depending on your specific needs.

If you need to take medication before your appointment, you must obtain an appointment with your healthcare professional before your appointment. For questions specific to the premedication process, please contact our office.

New patients should arrive 10-15 minutes early to their first appointment. This gives time to review any insurance benefits, policies, and complete necessary paperwork.

Yes! Steele Creek Smiles locations are always taking new patients in and often make appointments within the next day. The first visit to the dentist will typically consist of an appointment with the dentist to conduct a thorough examination and any necessary X-rays. At this time, you are able to discuss with the dentist the specific areas of trouble or issues. The visits can be scheduled as an appointment.

If you are a brand new patient, you’ll first visit your dentist for an extensive examination. In your examination, the dentist will go over the dental X-rays taken and perform an oral cancer screening that includes a thorough exam of your jaw, tongue, neck and the inside of your mouth. When you first visit your dentist, there is a chance that you will not receive the cleaning. A cleaning can be performed when the dentist has confirmed that it’s the correct treatment for your particular oral health. Certain conditions make it clear that a clean is not the best option for treatment. For more details about your first visit, please take a look at “What You Can Expect During The First Experience.”
