Early Detection for a Healthy Smile
Oral cancer is the leading cause of death for adults in the United States. Oral cancers can be treated more quickly if they are detected in their early stages. Early treatment is more successful and less invasive. Oral cancers in more advanced stages are more likely to spread to other parts of the body and require complex treatment.
Dr. Bajaj suggests that you have an oral cancer screen at least once a year. Regular screenings will help to detect cancer early.
During the oral cancer screening, Dr. Bajaj checks for any abnormalities. We will examine your tongue, mouth, lips, gums, and throat.
Please let us know if you experience any of the following symptoms:
- You may have difficulty speaking, swallowing, or moving your tongue or jaw.
- Feeling that something is stuck in your throat
- No other symptoms of sinus infection except a sore throat
- You may have lumps or swellings around or in your mouth
- Drastic weight loss
- You may have white or red patches on your lips
- Mouth sores that do not heal
- Unexplained ear pain
- Unexpected bleeding in the mouth
Call us right away if you’ve been experiencing any of these symptoms without improvement for over a week.
Oral cancer can affect anyone, but certain factors can increase your risk. Oral cancer is most commonly found in:
- Men are more susceptible to oral cancer than females
- Smoking in any form is 6 times more likely
- Oral cancer genetic predisposition
- Exposure to the sun for a prolonged period of time is excessive.
- Unhealthy diet
- Alcohol abuse is a serious problem
- GERD is a gastroesophageal reflux disease

Known to some as “The Dancing Dentist”, Dr. Bajaj prides himself in incorporating his love for dance, music and creativity into his practice. As a result, he attracts and connects with all ages. On any given day the music in his office ranges from the world of Disney to special requests by his patients. His social media presence has afforded him the opportunity to speak at various events and share his love for dentistry that he developed back in the 3rd grade.
